⭐ 1/5 — The worst accommodation experience I have ever booked through Booking.com
I stayed for three nights from 19 to 22 June 2026 at The Atier Gem Suites, located inside The Panorama building at No. 2 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Nha Trang.
The actual experience was completely different from the
impression created by the photos and description on Booking.com.
There was no proper hotel-style reception or organised check-in. We had to contact the host directly and waited for more than one hour before being able to access the apartment.
The apartment was old, poorly maintained and had a strong damp and musty smell. There was also a very unpleasant sewage smell coming from the toilet and bathroom. The curtains were badly torn, there was fine sand underneath the mattress, and the balcony was extremely small and impractical, nothing like the attractive space shown in the listing photos.
The building itself was overcrowded, noisy and uncomfortable. Each time we used the elevators, we often had to wait approximately 15–20 minutes.
The overall layout, condition, cleanliness and quality of the apartment were significantly below what was advertised. At a price of VND 6,743,067, approximately USD 256, for three nights, this was extremely poor value and comparable to the cost of a properly managed five-star hotel or resort in Nha Trang.
I was also informed that similar apartments in the same building may be booked directly for approximately VND 600,000 per night, which made the price charged through Booking.com even more difficult to understand.
This review reflects my personal experience. I have photographs and videos documenting the actual condition of the apartment.
I strongly recommend that travellers carefully verify the exact apartment, host, actual room condition and check-in arrangements before making any payment.
Booking.com should urgently investigate this property and remove or suspend the listing if the advertised photographs, descriptions and accommodation standards cannot be verified. Continuing to promote materially misrepresented accommodation will damage Booking.com’s reputation and cause it to lose the trust of long-standing customers.
